The origin

The inefficiency was obvious.
The coordination layer was missing.

Ride-hailing fleets operate with limited system-level intelligence. Vehicles make isolated decisions, cluster around the same demand, and leave entire areas underserved. As fleets scale, particularly in autonomous mobility, this becomes a major economic problem.
