EV Fleet Manager
Hands-on Operations Leader
Own the numbers. Lead the team. Solve problems. Improve how we operate. Odysse is a growing, data-driven electric vehicle fleet operator. We manage a fleet of over 50 electric vehicles, and growing, operated by professional employed drivers on major ride-hailing platforms in London's private hire (PCO) market. We combine technology, data and hands-on fleet management to deliver efficient, reliable and sustainable mobility services. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on EV Fleet Manager to take ownership of our fleet operations, driver performance and commercial results. We need someone who is comfortable leading a team, working directly with drivers, analysing performance, solving operational problems and taking responsibility for results. Someone who can manage today's operations while continuously improving how we work.
Compensation
Salary is subject to experience. The performance bonus is subject to achievement of agreed performance objectives.
What we're looking for
You enjoy being close to the operation. You know your numbers, follow through on commitments and don't wait for someone else to solve problems. Experience in private hire, electric vehicles or TfL compliance would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- ●Strong hands-on experience in fleet, transport, logistics or similar operational management
- ●Proven experience managing drivers or frontline operational teams
- ●Commercial awareness and confidence working with KPIs, targets and performance data
- ●Ability to manage difficult conversations, performance issues and operational escalations
- ●Practical knowledge of vehicle operations, maintenance and incident management
- ●Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- ●Good computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and confidence using digital systems and operational management tools
- ●Familiarity with AI tools (such as ChatGPT) and willingness to use them to improve productivity, analyse information and streamline everyday tasks
- ●Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally and effectively with drivers, colleagues and external partners
- ●A proactive, accountable and firm but fair management style
- ●Full UK driving licence
- ●You are looking for a desk-based or remote role with no frontline operational involvement
- ●You are unable to work on-site in Croydon and take part directly in daily fleet and driver operations
- ●You prefer to escalate problems rather than take ownership and resolve them
- ●You are not comfortable handling difficult conversations, performance issues or disciplinary matters
- ●You are not comfortable working with KPIs, targets and performance data
